driving

Driving
When do we have the right to receive our independence? It is illogical for people to receive their license at the age of eighteen years old. I received my license at the age of sixteen years old, and when I received it, I was finally able to hold a grip of independence in my left hand. Learning how to drive takes time, first you must be taught by your mother or father how to drive, and then you have to attend classes that explain the rules of driving, and the proper etiquette of the road. Next after you have to attend driving classes, you have to take the written exam which consists of fifty questions. The exam last for at least an hour and a half, after you have passed your written your exam, you will receive a half sheet of paper which is called at permit; you must keep this permit for six months at least. After you have had your license for six months, then you can take the behind the wheel test. So as you can see receiving your license is a long process.
Why put more pressure on my senior year than I already have. Senior year consist of getting ready for prom, after prom, grad night, senior breakfast, yearbook purchases, senior photos, SAT’s, ACT’s, SAT subject test, maintaining a high grade point average, college tours, and picking the right college. Senior year can be extremely stressful and extremely expensive, especially when you have to worry about taking a written exam for driving, and a behind the wheel test.
Achieving your ability to drive at the age of eighteen years old, is difficult, and stressful. Who wants to ask his or her parents for a ride at the age of seventeen years old, it is actually somewhat embarrassing. It is unfair for teenager to have to ask their mommies and daddies if they would be so kind and drop them off at the mall, with their date, or drop them off at the movie theatre. Growing up is about making mistakes; however society does not see it like this. I understand that having a license is extremely important, and if  given to the wrong person somewhat dangerous. If a person who has not had the proper training, is out on the road, he or she is not only a danger to himself or herself but a danger to others. I believe that people who drive at an early age get a better understanding of what independence truly means. Having independence at an early age such as sixteen years old teaches you more than responsibility, but it gives you a sense of maturity. Also receiving your license at the age of sixteen years old, will motivate young people to get a job, because owning a license will promote people to want to buy a car (hence the job) and if they have the car already they will still be motivated to get a job, because in order to drive you need gas, and gas cost money.

getting to know your grandparents

To preserve the family history several questions have to be asked. Questions to ask the oldest member of your family, such as a grandfather, grandmother, great grandfather, or great grandmother. You could ask them things like, who is the oldest member of the family they remember, what type of person were they when they were younger, what type of occupation did they have when they were younger, and what are some of their greatest accomplishments. Its very important to connect with your elderly relatives because their day are limited and you would hate to have to watch them go, without knowing anything about them, you would be very regretful. Also when you get to know your grandparents (or whoever you are connecting with) you are bonding with them, and when you understand where you have came from, you begin to self reflect about the characteristics you posses. You could also ask them how many kids they have or had, what dreams did they have when they were younger, were they good or bad when they were younger, and were they ever married before if so when? I believe that you could also ask general question (just to get to know them more) like what is their favorite color, what is their favorite sport, if they could travel anywhere, where would they go, what do they picture paradise looking like, what is their favorite food, when is their birthday (if you did not already know that), do they like music, what type of music do they listen to, and do they like the things that play on the radio now?

my fav video

My favorite music video is Kanye west’s new music video/ mini movie clip “Runaway”. I like this music video because its really good and it has beautiful images and vivid colors. The music video has much more meaning behind all the symbolism than viewers think. When I first seen this music video I couldn’t believe it was thirty minutes long, and I figured I would watch maybe half of it (if that much). However when I started watching it my whole entire mindset changed. I was captured by the beautiful colors most rapper and singers create music videos that are often times degrading to women, but Kanye has not created your stereotypical music video he has created art. The video is long, but it features a mixture and preview of all o the songs that are offered on his new album “My Twisted Dark Fantasy”. Kanye West is a well-known artist and has proven that he is well known for a reason. The music video features a sphinx, which is a make believe spiritual animal (somewhat of a bird) that symbolized, rebirth, and new life. Throughout the movie Kanye West is searching for this sphinx, and when he finds the sphinx (the sphinx is in a female body) he captures her and keeps he to himself, and she eventually burns(which sphinx are known for). You have to pay attention to several things in his music video like the colors, and the lyrics that are following the several video clips.

friends

Making a new friend is somewhat easy. The first thing I do when  I want  to make a new friend is make eye contact, if he or she does not come my way first I make the move. I go up to him or her and introduce myself and ask them what his or her name is.  I initiate the conversation with simple questions only seeking to understand who they are better and where they come from. I ask simple questions such as, what is  your favorite sport, when were  you born, what sign are you, what is your favorite color, what is your favorite food, what school do you go to? Also when meeting a new friend you have to carry a positive attitude and be friendly, no one wants to befriend someone who is rude, and inconsiderate of their feelings (those type of friendships will not last). When I get to know the person better I ask question like “what is your most embarrassing moment.
I love making new friends because I get to expose myself to various backgrounds, and actually have the potential to have made a lifelong friend. It is always fascinating how a friendship can evolve into a lifelong friendship, and best friends. I have made several friends with people that I felt that I would never be friends with but now I am best friends with them. Making friends is a good thing, you allow yourself to become somewhat of a social butterfly when you make friends and if you are a shy person making a new friend will bring you out of your shell.

piercings

Getting a piercing is a new teenage fad. However I believe it has always been a teenage fad, there are numerous things to get pierced beside your ears. Getting a piercing to me is a way to express yourself although parental may find it rebellious and not advised to get one.  I believe that the most expressive piercing are the naval piercing, nose piercings, upper ear piercings, and lip piercing. I for once received a naval piercing just for the fact that I found it pretty, and it was a way to express myself. I believe that getting theses exotic piercing became popular because it is a way that teenager can express themselves and also piercings are a form of body art.
Often times teenage fads go out of style, and come and go although this is true body piercings have always been popular amongst the teenage for a really long time and they have always been seen as rebellious in the parental eye. I believe that  getting a piercing should no t be perceived as rebellious s act against parents or authorities. Teenagers should only get piercings if they want to express themselves and find the piercing cute. I feel that it is wrong when teenagers get piercings simply because their friends are getting it, or it is popular amongst a certain group of people. It is hard to keep up with a piercing also you have to take care of it, clean it daily, and keep a ring in it so it doesn’t close, and also piercing can be painful.

college

It is hard to pick the right college or even the college I truly want to attend. I am a senior now in high school and the college search has been long and hard. I believe the correct way to approach the college search is to begin when you are at least a junior in high school. First you must understand and comprehend what you want to do and life, and what you truly have a passion for. I believe that people who pick careers that they feel are only financially correct, will not have a happy life. if you follow your passion then with patience, time, and experience it will ultimately lead you into financial stability and bliss. Next you have to honestly ask yourself, do I want to go out of state? I for one have the deepest desire to attend an out of state school; I want something new and challenging, and it is for this reason that I want to attend an out of state school. These few steps will help you narrow down a few colleges. Lastly you must figure out the cost of tuition and take in consideration the miscellaneous you will need. If money is an issue for you, you must go after scholarships, grants, and if necessary loans. I believe that loans are bad, however how far will you go to attend your dream school is the question one must ask him or herself. I may or may not take out loans but I will try my hardest first to achieve loans and grants

my parents

I appreciate my parents because they provide me with the things I need the most. My parents buy my clothes, food, water, and shoes. I appreciate my mom because she gave birth to me. I appreciate my parents because when my younger brother and I argue my parents are always there to separate us from our fight and they help us figure out who was right and who was wrong. I believe my parents are always trying to help me do my best and achieve the goals I want to achieve. Although I may argue with my mom and my dad at the end of the day I still love them and they still love me. Arguing with my parents is all apart of growing up my parents believe they are right all the time although they are not and I believe that I am right most of the time and sometimes I am not. When my parents argue with me and tell me that I am wrong I am upset for a second but within days I realize they were trying to show me the right answers. If I were to just take every word my mother or father told me then I wouldn’t be the independent thinker that I am today I would just take everyone’s input and neglect my own opinion. Arguing with my parents has not only taught me to be independent but to also self reflect and have my own opinions, it has taught me to be a leader, my parents have taught me to be a leader.
